38 weeks and sudden rectal pressure

TMI so I apologise! Woken up this morning with serious rectal pressure. Keep sitting on the toilet expecting something to happen but nothing. Almost like constipation however I dont think I am. Got a bit of lower backache also but nothing major. I've been losing my mucus plug for the last week now. Has anyone else experienced this?

You’re about to start labour I strongly suspect

I’m 35 weeks and have had this since last Saturday. I’ve even got piles and I’ve not been constipated so something is putting pressure down there. I’m constantly feeling like I need the toilet although when I actually need to go I get tummy pains so I know the rest of the time it’s just pressure even so I’ve spent a lot of time just sat in the toilet this past week 🙈

Classic sign of labour - call the hospital/midwife etc!

Hi!! That’s exactly what my labour was like. Phone the midwife or hospital and if you suspect it labour get them to examine you.

I kept being sent home and told it was only early labour and I was just constipated, even though I kept telling them I had an urge to push.

When I went to the hospital for an induction 24hrs later I was 10cm and they could see the head!

Good luck!
