I had 2 with a private midwife in Australia. After a hospital birth for the first they were absolutely the most amazing experiences

@zscaler There is a lovely book by Abigail Cairns called "Home Birth stories to inspire and inform" that you may enjoy if you are considering / planning a home birth.

My older kids, 12, 10 and 7, came home from school while I was in labour and popped up for a chat while I was pacing around. The midwife said, “You are teaching your kids that labour isn’t a thing to be scared of and that’s fantastic.”

Their little brother was born about two hours later.
