If you had a planned c section when was it planned?

I’m going to be 42 at due date. Will they schedule the c section earlier than 40 weeks?

Hi OP, I had a planned c section for my second DC. It was planned for 39 weeks exactly. I was told it could be no earlier than that although I could've had the baby later but of course you run the risk you will go into natural labour the more you put the date back so I guess it depends if you have any health concerns and what the risks associated with them are.

I was considered an older mother for both mine. With my first I was scheduled very close to the due date but they decided to do it there and then when I went for my pre-op assessment because I had PE symptoms. There were complications too.

I had DS 17 months later. They scheduled the cs for 38 weeks then bought it forward a week. I had a better recovery but I've always felt they took him too early. He was quite poorly at the start.

I think it depends on the circumstances but both times I felt like we were being very closely monitored. Good luck!

My planned section was organised when I was at 36 week due to Xmas "break" had baby at 40 weeks (I pushed it back a week with midwife's approval).

Mine was planned for week 39. I offered to go in the week before but they stuck to their guns.

Thanks all. So it sounds like week 39 is most likely if I don’t have other complications.

Mine is currently planned for 38 weeks, but I have horrible scarring from two previous sections, plus have a history of small babies.

The first two were planned for around 39+4 though.
