Positive Induction Stories

Hiya does anyone on here have any recent positive induction of labour stories ? I am booked in at 38+3 for balloon induction. This will be my 3rd baby but 1st induction as my other 2 came naturally. Everything I read online is a horror story.

I was induced at 37+5 with my first baby. I had nothing to compare it to but I found it fine. They gave me a pessary in the afternoon and checked me the next day in the afternoon and broke my waters, no contractions or anything in between. Then DS was born 8 hours later.

I’m pregnant with my second and more nervous about the unpredictability of spontaneous labour. If I was told I had to be induced I would happily do it again 😊 best of luck!

I was induced at 38+3 with the balloon. My baby arrived safely the same day and was healthy, that's the most important thing ❤️

I was induced at 40&5, waters broken and oxytocin drip started 4 hours after that.
Not going to lie, the oxytocin made things very tough. However, I didn’t need any assistance for DD to be born, the midwife didn’t even get a change to say ‘one more push’ after her head came, before the rest of her came!
I had a lot of pain relief, I slept for quite a bit of my labour. Used gas and air.
Wouldn’t change much about it!

I was induced at 37+2 and gave birth at almost 37+5, it was a boring couple of days in hospital waiting for things to happen! When they broke my waters things got moving and I had a really positive experience. Once on the drip I found the pain really ramped up so I had an epidural. I gave birth naturally and unassisted, really low grade tear and no complications at all.

Thank you all. Really hoping the balloon will work without the need for pesseries and or drip x

Induced at 37 weeks. First and (so far) only baby.

Pessaries didn't really do much. Just about got me dilated enough to have my waters broken, but definitely no labour. Fortunately delivery suite was virtually empty that night, so I was brought down, waters broken, labour still didn't start, so drip attached. 11 1/2 (painful, but managed with morphine and gas & air) hours later I was holding my baby. No interventions needed and a small second degree tear.

Hi OP how are you doing??

I am due to be induced next week at 38 weeks as I have cholestasis and am also looking for some positive stories! Xx

Oh Mummy1214

just seen it is your 3 rd child. My MW said because your body knows what to do re labour induction is especially easy but they did recommend pain relief as its likely to be quick.

Good luck!

should have put a comma after the word labour

Ooo I really hope that's the case with me then. I spoke to my midwife today about something else but did mention induction and she did say as it's my third they may be a chance I'll already be a bit dilated and be able to break waters straight away so fingers crossed x

I'm going to be induced at 39 weeks (if I haven't delivered). It's my 5th child and I haven't been induced before so following with interest.
