Got their date at 37 weeks did they book you in for 39 weeks or were some earlier.? My midwife said between 37-39 weeks I’d have the baby so thinking they may give me a date for a week later. Is that something that happens or do you get more notice?

I think they made the decision around 32 weeks or so then looked at when I'd be 38 weeks and picked a date. Baby decided to come nine days earlier (waters broke, I still had the section and he was already well over 10lbs). Maybe it depends on why.

I was booked in to have one the week that I was 39 weeks at my final consultant appointment. I was then texted the official date about 5 days before it actually happened. I was 39+3 when I had it.

I'm 36+2 and got the confirmed date for my ELCS yesterday, it's scheduled for when I'm 39+6. Think it's so late due to there being no medical reason for my section.

I had an appt at 36 weeks and given the date for 39+6. I could have had 39+5 but it was my older one’s birthday. My hospital said they wouldn’t do electives before 39 weeks.

Mine have been booked for the week after turning 39 weeks. One was booked for 39+1 and one at 39+2. Unless there is some medical reason (with either you or the baby) why it needs to be done sooner, elective c sections are not normally booked before 39 weeks due to the risk of RDS.

My consultant booked the date because it coincided with her birthday! Ego, much?!

I’ve had pre eclampsia at 39 weeks in my 4 previous pregnancies and I’ve had 3 previous c sections so they don’t want me to go in to labour naturally. I’m concerned my dates mean I’m a week ahead compared to my scans edd. I guess it’s just a waiting game and see what happens. 😬
