Post natal wards and Covid measures

Has anyone given birth lately and share their experiences on what social distancing measures are in place for the post natal wards?

Does everyone need to wear masks? Do they leave a gap between the beds/cots in the ward?

I gave birth last week. All the staff were in masks in the post natal ward. Most women I think didn’t even go into post natal as they were discharged straight from the labour ward. In the ward itself they had spread everyone out so it was one woman max per bay of four. I only went into post natal as my baby was born at midnight and there wouldn’t be a paediatrician around time to do the checks until the morning.

All staff in PPE, beds very spaced out, we were all tested for covid on arrival and had results within 90mins, so by the time we left delivery suite we knew whether we were "safe" to go to regular postnatal wards...

It was actually really quiet and calm without any visitors around. I liked it! And it felt very safe (and I'm a worrier).

I gave birth nearly 3 weeks ago and I had constant worries leading up to my due date over what hospital would be like..... I shouldn't have worried everyone was lovely and in the correct ppe where needed. The ward was so nice was very quiet and no visitors, new mums talked amongst themselves was very relaxed. I only stayed in one night as had to have epidural and forceps and lost quite a lot of blood. I had my baby on a Monday afternoon and was home by Tuesday afternoon but to be honest if I had to have stayed another night I wouldn't have minded cause the atmosphere was so nice.
Please don't worry and good luck!
