Maternity pads

Can someone please remind me how many maternity pads I need. Conscious I can't just pop to the shops with Covid around so keen to bulk shop enough for a few weeks at least. It's been 6 years since my last baby so I have forgotten everything!
Thanks in advance.

I think it varies by person, but I've bought as follows

Thick ones for first couple weeks:

5 a day for the first week = 42
3 a day for the second week = 21

Bought 7 packs of 10 thick ones.

3 a day for weeks 3+4 = 42

Then also bought 4 packs of 10 thinner ones

And I have reusable sanitary towels which I hope to switch to after that.

It totally depends. On my first C Section I used very few pads. On my second similar but on my third my waters went and labour didn't start for about 12 hours but I went through about two packs that day alone as the flow of liquid was heavy. I had to send DH to buy extra and get extra knickers as well as it was something I hadn't anticipated. So definitely get more than you think you will need

I wasn't wondering this too... I've got 4 x 10 packs of Boots thick maternity pads at the moment and I do still have some medium flow normal sanitary pads in the house. I'm not due for another 6 weeks so I'll put some more on my next grocery shop

I used 4 packs of the boots thick Maternity pads and that was it.

I was told by my health visitor to change every 2 hours to risk infection and I still got two!!! I was changing every 2 hours even in the night so I went through flipping loads. Good luck with your baby x

I got through a lot, and then just used to remainders instead of sanitary towels when needed as not to waste them! I only bought 2 packs of 10 initially, and it's actually the thing that was most annoying in terms of not realising I would need more and having to keep going out to get them. I would get a fair few packs, and then you can still use them if you don't need them for periods, or donate them. I used the boots thick maternity pads and they were great, I did spray some spritz for bits on them too, but that's a different thread maybe haha. I would go for at least 5 packs personally.

Thanks everyone. I will do a bit of a bulk shop then! And I can always donate to my bestie - she's a few weeks behind me!
