My best friend is due to have her first baby this month, she's having a boy :)
I am wondering what would be nice to get for her and baby, I would have to send the gift(s) in the post due to the current situation

If she’s your best friend I would say a huge bottle of wine, a lovely book for baby to keep and maybe some muslins as you use them like you’re going out of fashion. Or memory boxes are lovely although maybe best to gift after baby is born so you can personalise. Oh and nipple cream and some spritz for bits if she’ll appreciate the gesture Grin

If she's somewhere that Cook or similar deliver - send her a load of meals! So nice in the early days not to have to worry about cooking etc x

I always send a personalised cushion for the baby with the baby's name and DOB

Something that lasts for ever and can be out in the baby's room.

Best thing for a new mum is knowing her friends are there for her so although you can't be with her maybe calls/txts x

Baby - keepsake item such as memory box (my first years do beautiful things and deliver in a gift box) or clothes (always useful) or books

Mum - wine, spritz for bits spray, posh moisturiser, voucher for post lockdown spa time?!

As ungrateful as this makes me sound I’ve just had a baby and received a few bunches of “letter box flowers” you know the sort that come in a box that you arrange yourself? Beautiful and thoughtful but honestly the last thing I needed with a 4 day old was to have to stand arranging sodding flowers so please nothing she will have to tend to or DIY!!
