Hi ladies!

As thread name suggests I am a type 1 diabetic. I have a 9mo DD and we have decided to try for another in the summer.

I was induced at 36w with DD due to suspected placental failure, induction took a while but as soon as they broke my waters and out me on the drip things took off. Dilated quickly but just ran out of pushing steam so ended with a forceps delivery.

I was just wondering what your birth experiences were like? I'm considering asking for a c -section next time, so any stories around that or second-time-round inductions would be fab. Thank you!

Hi, I’m type 1 too. I just a semi-emergency c-section a couple of weeks ago. They also suspected placenta failure. They allowed me to use my pump with 50% reduced basal rate, but I was attached to glucose drip because of the hypos and not being allowed to eat some hours before c-section. The actual procedure was fine, I was nervous because of my previous c-section was eventful. This time I had a briefing whilst pregnant and a plan was made. They followed it and my son was born. They gave ds to dh to hold and I said no thank you, because it is an awkward angle to hold a baby. My Libre was on during it. I’m healing ok and I have had two previous c-section this one being my third and got an infection once.

Hello! I’m a type 1 FTM and just over six weeks so I have a long way to go. All my efforts are going into maintaining my sugars in the green zone on my libre and so far so good, but I’m not sure how hard this will be to maintain. That first 12 week scan is forever away.
