Anyone had a recent c-section?

Hi all,

I'm due to have an elected C-Section at the Birmingham Womens (before anyone jumps on why it's elected, It's medical reasons I've been told I have to have one)

In the next 9 weeks.

I had a bad emergency c-section experience 5 years ago and poor aftercare.

I am terrified that with all this going on, my husband can be there for the c-section but will then need to leave strait after Sad

My anxiety about this is through the roof!!
Has anyone had a c-section recently or know of anyone and know if partners can stay with you after the c-section?

Thanks

Hey OP I'm not in your area but from what I e seen (and the plan for my cs) is that partners can be at the birth and go with you to recovery but when you are transferred to the postnatal ward he'll be asked to leave.

I hope that puts your mind at ease a bit. Good luck.

In my local 3 trusts partner can be with you for section and in recovery, but isn’t allowed on the postnatal ward. This worried me a bit as was so reliant on DH after my EMCS, but also realised it meant the ward wouldn’t be full of loud, inconsiderate visitors, like last time. Hopefully it means things will feel calmer and more restful.

Also, I would hope that as it’s an elective section you (and I, although mine isn’t for a while!) won’t be in for too long after. If it’s all straightforward and you feel ok, many women go home the next day.

Also, in the next 9 weeks things may have changed and these rules may (or may not) have been relaxed again.

Yes, I have, I put a post on it yesterday on this thread:

I had one there but not recently, but I wish you good luck and a better experience this time around, especially in these unsettling times we are living in.
