I am 40+6 weeks pregnant and due to see the midwife later today. I just noticed some tiny blood stains and mucus type discharge when I went for a wee. Was worried for a moment but then remembered it could be a "bloody show". Am praying that this is it to get labour started without having to have a sweep or induction. I haven't seen the mucus plug but am hopeful that perhaps this is the beginning of labour? Is this it or shouldn't get my hopes up too much?

Update!!

After the bloody show, nothing happened since then, I saw the midwife today and she booked me for an induction at 41+5 weeks. I asked her about the stretch and sweep but was told since I was not yet 41 weeks (which is tomorrow), she couldn't offer it. She was however happy with where baby was, not fully engaged but she's happy with position. She did book a stretch and sweep for Wednesday though after I said I wanted if she could get me an appointment before the induction day. I feel so helpless and so emotional right now.

Just wanted to get it off my chest.
