Does anyone know the correct dose and regime of oral Arnica to take post C section. Does it need to be taken prior to the procedure ?

Arnica is a herbal remedy isn't it? So there is no hard and fast rule about dosage is there?

Have you looked at the information sheet in the packet? or asked your doctor?

Thanks for your messages, yes, Arnica is a homeopathic remedy - but GPS don't prescribe it. I can ask the M/w but wondered if anyone had used it before. I am planning to use tea tree and lavender too.
I bruise very easily and am a slow healer so I wanted to cover all bases I can.

Hi Alfie72, Arnica 200 is the dose you need (you can get it in 30c or 60c i think).

Many people rave about it - i have only heard very positive things about it. You can buy it online as it's harder to find in shops. I'll try and find you the link someone kindly gave me.

You can take it prior to the procedure too. I'm not a homeopath, just gleaned this info from research i have done in the last few weeks.

there something about thsi onthe breach watch thread - sorry can't do links but came up end of last week or so

Hi there I took it with my second cs and my sister took it with both her normal births. I think it is something like one tablet 3 times the day before and then if you remember one tablet every hour afterwards I forgot to do this and then keep taking a couple of tablets every day for about a week. I recovered well from my cs so I think it does work.

Here is the thread which helped me:

If thread link doesn't work, just search under 'Arnica 200 - where to buy?'

I got mine from Ainsworths. The other place mentioned was Helios.

Thanks ladies, all very helpful messages, I think I'll go and hunt some down. It's ok to take if you're breastfeeding I conclude ?
