Peeing after labour

Has anyone else had this issue if so have you had any long term issues?
I had my little boy on Wednesday and wasn't able to pee within the 6 hours straight after labour. The staff on the ward encouraged me to drink more and more, still no pee/very little. I was eventually catheterised 14hrs post delivery where 5 ltrs was drained straight from my bladder.
I have been told I need the catheter in for a week as my bladder had been so distorted. Hopefully will come out on Thursday and I won't have any issues, just wondering if anyone else has had this?

I had a catheter around 6 hrs after delivery. I was in agony and couldn't believe I was in so much pain again so soon after labour!
I had an epidural if that makes a difference. Took me a while to get back to normal. A few days.

I'm surprised they waited 14 hours to catheterise! 5L! You must have been in agony!

I had similar but not after labour, during labour! It was like my body just forgot how too pee. I was in so much pain as my bladder was full but I just couldn't get it out. They had to put a catheter in, in the end which I had to carry everywhere with while I was contracting like mad.
After labour I was able to wee on my own as normal.
