Really thought that was it, very disappointing

I know the baby will come out at some point but really thought last night something was happening, had period like pains and back cramps which were getting increasingly worse from dinner time til I went to bed and kept feeling like I needed the toilet as well as an urge to pace around and sort things out. Went to bed thinking hopefully I'll get some rest and be woken up by something more progressive, but nothing. I know baby will come when she's ready but I'm just so fed up with Spd and the exhaustion I just want it over with for my own sanity

Ahh I feel for you. Those last few days are hard! When was your due date?

Stay as active as possible! Flowers

You have my sympathy... Try and put a positive spin on it in your head... Your body has just done a bit of a trial run. Your one step closer. It will be over soon and you will be cuddling your baby...

Mumdiva99 · 07/03/2020 07:53

How far along are? It sounds like your body is getting ready. Stay as active as you can. Can you still swim? I found that a lot of relief at the end. And stay positive.

Settle in to it and try your best to keep moving a bit, rest up, get as comfortable as possible and relax (let your body know it's a safe time to give birth). Thinking of you.

It’s a bugger isn’t it! It’s been 3 days of constant on n off cramping.. enough that dp’s looked worried lol. I’ve already decided that we should come with a timer on us telling you exactly when you’ll give birth. It’s my second but my first proper wait to go experience as I was induced with ds.. so for all I’m only 38weeks I’ve never been this far on.

Keep moving hopefully the little monkey decides it’s time soon!

I'm 38 weeks and my other two DCs were both two weeks past due date so I know I've probably still got ages to go, I'm just so done with being pregnant. Also with my other two labour woke me in the night with painful contractions so I think I've slept through the early part with them so don't really know how it feels when it starts

@sprite25 I know completely how you feel. I've been in latent labour since Tuesday.. had 3 rounds of contractions that have got to 6 mins apart and then stopped. It's draining and really deflating. At least we aren't alone! Hopefully things start off for you soon. X

OnePotato2Potato · 07/03/2020 15:01

I know how you feel OP. I’ve been getting awful contractions since Wednesday night but only at night and they fade in the morning. Also had a bloody show on Wednesday night and bloody discharge since then. But hardly any contractions during the day. My EDD isn’t until next week but I really feel like I cant take this prolonged labour for much longer. Its much more painful than previous labour pains. Sad

LillianFullStop · 07/03/2020 23:13

I hope things get going properly soon OP - I had similar from 38w. Seemed to start around 11-12PM - quite painful but not long enough or intervals irregular in the end I would fall asleep and wake up to no contractions at all. By due date I was exhausted from getting no sleep for a couple of weeks so I got induced.

Try to rest during the day if at all possible!

I had an exam around 39ish weeks that caused regular contractions which stopped after a certain level of intensity. I was so excited and absolutely gutted when they fizzled out at lunchtime the next day. However I tried to be positive as any cramping was a lot more than I'd had with my first son where i had absolutely no signs of labour until i was induced a week after he was due.
It did actually turn out to be true that the early cramping was the start of labour for me as the following week I had the same cramping after another examination but that time it went into full labour a couple of days before his due date. So to me it sounds like things are starting to move! All the best and hope you are holding your little bundle safely very soon.
