Labour signs

Just wondering what everyone's early labour signs were ? If any...

I'm 38+4 currently with my first pregnancy and last night had a sudden pain in my left side of groin whilst in bed, this morning I really feel baby has dropped. Feel as though I have a ball inbetween my legs! Movements have dramatically changed this morning too, a lot more kicking and sudden movements down low. She was slightly engaged when I had my last midwife app 2 weeks ago. I know that this doesn't mean labour is due to start soon but it's a good sign my body and baby are preparing! I've also had an increase in discharge the last 3-4 days which doesn't have any colour to it so not sure if it's part of the plug or not... just thought I'd ask for other people's stories whilst lounging twiddling my thumbs patiently waiting now for potentially another 3.5 weeks if we have a late arrival !

Oh fingers crossed you meet your baby soon!

I had my first baby boy on Thursday just gone. I lost my plug on the Monday and had more discharge since. I felt really emotional, the night before I gave birth I was laid in bed sobbing about how I didn't think I'd be good enough! Bump looked massive and just generally very achy and hot.

Woke up on the Thursday at 5.30am with crampy pain. It wasn't bad, just enough to make me question. Didn't go away and felt like a sharp horrible constipation in my bum, never really my front. Hospital at 5cm dilated, bloody show came out in active labour so don't be disheartened if you don't have one 😊.

Good luck!

@SparkleUK congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. Hope your both doing well and settling in great at home

Was your plug a pinky colour like they say it usually is ?? How your describing about bump looking big and achy and hot I'm having that today - not sure if it's all in my head!

Thank you

Thank you! We are getting there, it's all learning.

My actual plug on the Monday was like a weird off yellow type colour, a bit like thicker snot (sorry!). The bloody show when I was in labour started off as brown and pink when I wiped and was then brown mucus.

It's so hard not to spot all the signs when you're so keen for labour! Hope LO doesn't keep you too long
