Jab at home after electes c section?

After my emergency c section I got an infection so was in hospital for a week then when I got home I had to have a jab in my stomach daily for a week. I think it was to avoid blood clotting. I'm calling it a jab because it wasn't a needle that I had to find a specific vein to inject into.

I may have an elective c section for second pregnancy and obviously this is not a deal breaker but just wondered if having a jab daily is something that I'll have to have again. Or was it to do with the infection rather than c section itself?

Thanks

More than likely have to have them again. It's because your at risk of blood clots.

Ive not had a section but with baby 1 and baby 3 had to also do the injections. I think most people have them after a section however

It's standard after a C section to recur your risk of blood clots. You should get discharged from hospital with 10 or so (depending on how long you're in)

I had ten days' of jabs to prevent bloodclots, as pp said. I'm a bit squeamish though so made DH do them.

Yes I had to get DH to do it. Oh that's interesting that everyone will have them. I had not heard of it at all until I had it and not heard anyone mention them since until this thread!
