Mild infection in c section scar

I had an elective c section 4 weeks ago and have a slight infection in the wound...I have taken a course of penicillin, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. I have been keeping it clean and covered with a dressing as advised by the nurse....it is still weeping/bleeding slightly, there is a small patch on the dressing when I change it. There is also a hard/swollen area around the middle of my scar which is a little bit red.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? How long did it take to clear? Any tips to help it along?

I am seeing the nurse again tomorrow, but the lady on reception really didn't want to give me the appointment! I'm not sure if this is all normal and I am wasting their time or if I am right to be worried about it.

Hope you have it sorted by now but I had exactly the same after my c section. One of the "dissolvable" stitches had not dissolved and it was causing it not to heal fully. I ended up with an infection in mine so was on antibiotics for 14 days. They took the stitch out and it finally healed, took mine about 10 weeks in total!! Even now it still gets a little tender so have to put Sudo cream on it to calm it down. I left mine uncovered because every time I took the dressing off it pulled the scab back off again!!!
