mucus plug after sweep?? (tmi!!! warning)

i had a sweep this morning (40 weeks) been crampy since which i expected. no bleeding but as i've just wiped a massive chunk of mucus has come out, is this classed as part of mucus plug a good sign??? or am i getting my hopes up

I can see the pic and yes, that's exactly what the start of my plug looked like. DD was born within 24 hours.

fingers crossed then! hoping it moves things along, i was only 1cm when she checked but she said it was soft and baby's head was right down

I hope things get moving for you. I had a sweep yesterday, had loads of pain pain and cramps and nothing now so annoying. I also had a bloody show last night so I'm praying and hoping it'll be soon. Good luck xx

Sorry to potentially burst your bubble but I had a sweep 7 days ago, bloody show later that day and no signs of labour thus far. Another sweep booked today...

I'm booked in for induction Tuesday so fingers crossed I won't have to wait that long

My mucus plug came away in several large bits like that, with DS over the space of a week, with DD in 2 days I think, but didn't have much of it that time. Also didn't have any blood with DD but did with DS.

i have had some more cramping and then this!!! swear it looks like it has blood in it... so gross tho the stuff us mums do

I had the same for about 2/3 weeks before I went into labour I don't think it's a massive sign that labour is imminent but you never know as everyone is different. Good luck
