C section infection?

I’m 4 weeks PP and I went to the toilet today and noticed tiny dots of blood on the maternity pad I’ve been keeping over my incision (too squeamish to just wear but pants and no pad over it until all the stitches are gone). On inspection under a light the one side of my scar is abit red, I don’t think it’s painful but I’m such a worrier and I’m terrified of infection. I think I could see a little push bit but it doesn’t seem to be weeping or oozing at all, just a bit of blood and what looked like puss sat on part of the wound.. I dabbed it with cotton wool pad and nothing came off on the pad except blood so I’m not 100% sure it’s pus tbh.

Does this sound like infection? Or could it just be where the stitches are dissolving? How urgent should I be seen if it’s suspected infection?

My C section infection started with a few spots of blood and no pus - it would be worth getting it checked by your doctor. I was guilty of trying to do too much too soon which slowed down my healing, so try and get as much support and rest as you can.
