Hi ladies, I'd really appreciate you giving me a general sense of how soon labour started after you lost your mucus plug? I'm 40+1 and lost it this morning....

Anyone? I'm sat here bouncing on my ball wondering if I need to sort out care for my wee dog!

Lost half mid morning, noticeable twinges from about 1230, 'proper' contractions from 1800ish, rest of the plug late at night, baby born 1230 the next day. Unfortunately it varies for everyone and doesn't mean baby will be imminent. Good luck!

ballsdeep · 25/01/2020 14:19

I lost mine about a week before! Good luck

Mandarinfish · 25/01/2020 14:20

For me there were several days between losing it and going into labour. Sorry OP!

Hopefulbride18 · 25/01/2020 14:21

24 hours before - it might not mean it’s imminent but it’s certainly a good sign! How exciting for you, hope it all goes well 😊 xx

BigusBumus · 25/01/2020 14:32

Dont think i ever lost mine either time, not that i noticed anyway.

DramaAlpaca · 25/01/2020 14:34

I'd already had a couple of contractions before I lost mine, then things started ramping up & I gave birth twelve hours later.

HettyStThomas · 25/01/2020 14:41

DS1- about a day before
DS2- about a week or more before

Watto1 · 25/01/2020 15:31

My waters went approximately 5 minutes after I lost my plug. Labour kicked in properly over the next few hours.

CourtneyB123 · 25/01/2020 22:54

Mine was a week later, but everyone is different you're a little further along than I was when I lost mine so you never know could be anytime! Good luck!

CourtneyB123 · 25/01/2020 22:55

A week later meaning went into labour a week later*Hmm

MrsBlondie · 25/01/2020 22:57

yellowmelon · 26/01/2020 09:20

There certainly is no pattern I can see then! I've had no further signs yet. Will go for a good walk this morning - fingers crossed!

I lost my mucus plug about an hour after early contractions started. Hopefully something happens for you soon! I also went on a long walk the day before.
