Unusual pp bleeding

Had my second DD 8 weeks ago. Bleeding was normal to start and i had almost finished by about week 2. When out shopping i had a massive gush, thought id peed myself it was so much but when i went to the bathroom it was blood. That was literally it, bleeding faded off over the next few days, thought again it had finished and then another gush and up until now its been very stop start. Ill get to a point where i think its ending and im just wearing a liner, but then i get another big flood of it. Then last night i changed my pad and saw there was just clumps of 'tissue', two big clumps about 3cm x 3cm big each. Anyone else experienced similar?

I have a drs app booked for tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same. With my first i bled for 3 weeks then that was it so this just seems really unusual.

I bled for over 8 weeks with my first, but wasn’t losing clots. Did you mention it at the 6 week check?

This doesn't sound usual. I'd definitely mention it to the doctor tomorrow. But if you start feeling unwell at any point between now and the appointment, I'd get immediate medical advice.

At 8 weeks pp you shouldn’t be getting big pieces of tissue I don’t think.

I had a pp infection at about 7/8 weeks. Needed 2 courses of antibiotics to clear it up.

Please get checked out.

Definitely get this checked out - after giving birth I had some large clots, called triage and was told to come in immediately. I was admitted as soon as I arrived with bloods taken which thankfully came back clear but then had to be scanned which showed retained placenta. I was advised that if I hadn’t gone in when I did, I would have most likely been blue lighted in as an emergency - doesn’t bear thinking about. I had a small surgical procedure to remove the remaining placenta and was discharged a couple of hours later.

Only bled for 3 days after and not very heavy at all!
When baby 2 weeks haemorrhage at home turned out uterus very big a and thick but nothing could be seen with regards to retained product, again after this (and antibiotics) turners ojt has infection, no bleeding for another 2 weeks
At 5 weeks started bleeding assumed period! Have been having red fresh bloody pretty heavy then will o 12-20 hours with nothing at all then I start bleed again will bleed for couple hours then nothing again! This has been nearly two weeks now and I'm very fed up!
Had a scan last week as had a day where it flooded again and ended up a and e the scan showed my uterus was now bacn at usual size and swabs showed no infection so it's looking like first period b it so strange how I keep stopping and starting!!
