Period after c section????

As most will know I posted on here about bleeding etc after c section as I haemorrhaged and it was very scary! So looked for a lot of advice etc on here!
Anyway fast forward to 5 weeks post c section and I've started to bleed again!! Very heavy very red blood! Since Friday! It had pretty much stopped today then it's started again tonight! Anyway I am in doctors tonorow for my 6 week check so obviously will got threw all this with them but just wondered anyone who had c section when did you have a period? Anyone so soon?? (5weeks) and how long did you bleed for?!

Are you bf? If not, it might not be unusual but if you are, it’s odd. I’d be asking for a scan to check for missed parts of placenta.

Given what happened after your C section I would request an ultrasound ASAP

After both my c sections I got my period after about 7-8 weeks (I didn't BF). And they were normal periods; usual colour, same cramps as before.

The bright red blood you mention would concern me.

Thanks for reply's sorry for late reply! I ended up in a and e last night as bleeding was pouring from me! They sent me home after all though as they still think it's a period! I have to go back tomorow for a scan to rule anything out! And infection markets were up so they took a swab! Although he said the antibiotics I had last time should have cleared it
Just so fed up with it all now and becoming terrified when I see blood it's taking over my life!

I’m not surprised. Glad you have having a scan-it’s the best way to check for retainer products of conception as they call it. If you feel at all unwell overnight, fever, shivers, clammy etc get back to a and e pronto.

I mean they dud scab me after PPH and my uterus was a bit thick and still large but nothing could be really seem with regards to rp , however I did have a infection of womb , I find it hard to believe there is something there but you never know!

Hopefully you will get some reassurance. I know re babies. I was so glad when everything got back to normal about dc2-I never have to go through that again!!

Just a update!! So I had a scan yesterday and womb was back to normal thickness and normal size and nothing was there regards to retained products so all very good news , but I am having either a full day or full night with no bleeding then I start again and it comes with avengence! I have been bleeding now for a week! Cramps still come on bad! Does seem to be worse when I've been busy in the day but surely this wouldn't happen if it's a period??
