Induction due to spd

I'm wondering if anyone has gone through this? I am 35 weeks pregnant and in a wheelchair due to severe spd. I am struggling to lift my leg 3 inches off the floor and opening my legs is agony. I have a Consultant appointment in a few weeks bevause the baby is measuring so big. Has anyone been induced for spd? Did you have a c sec or natural? I'm so worried I am going to do real harm to myself in the long run if I try to deliver. Naturally.

I was housebound due to SPD with my last pregnancy. I was told they would not deliver early as SPD doesn't effect the baby. I also had gestational diabetes, excess fluid and went in and out of labour for days but this also didn't qualify me for earlier delivery apparently.
I delivered by emergency csection in the end. Hope you get a more understanding consultant xx

I think it depends on your consultant what you are offered. I have SPD and am on crutches. I was given the chance to be induced at 39 weeks, didn't take it and am waiting for a spontaneous birth. But I am almost 40 weeks now and in agony...

My consultant would not agree to induce me due to my SPD however he did allow it at 39 weeks as baby was measuring big and I had 3 checks for reduced movements. He was very clear with me that SPD was not a reason to induce so I would really push for it on the basis that baby is big (this was his main concern) and the shoulders could get stuck if baby is too big. I managed a natural delivery in 39 mins but did have a lot of pain after as baby become distressed and they basically pulled my legs apart to deliver. My DS is now 6 weeks and the pain from SPD has finally gone. Remember a c section is major surgery. Also at my induction they allowed me to have gas and air at all internal examinations before I was in labour due to the pain and that really helped

That's what I'm worried about, the baby getting stuck and the fact I literally can't open my legs. 😢 I'm worried I'll have damage after and I have two very active children already and this has really knocked me for six as I am basically housebound. Argh!

Please let me know how you get on at your appointment with the consult. Please try and stress that due to the size of your baby you would like to be considered for induction/ c section. You must talk through the very real danger of damage if natural delivery. However don’t dismiss it as it can be managed in labour as it had severe SPD with all 3 DC and it was only the last one that has had a significant recovery time and I had virginal delivery with all 3

I think it very much depends on the consultant, mine was great and started sweeping at 37wks induced at 39 wks I was crippled with it couldn't walk everytime I stood I was dizzy it was crazy
