I’ve never posted on here before but read it a lot lol. I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my first - midwife said I am 3/5 engaged. I then had two nights of period cramps and backache which have now subsided. Anyone know what’s going on? Thank you ☺️

Ooo exciting OP Smile
Long labour?
Are you at home?

Helfin · 03/01/2020 00:06

Hi!! @SunbeamsOverhead I am at home, how long a labour can it be? Had some small cramps today but nothing like they were ☺️ Thank you for replying.

Sounds like your body is gearing up and getting ready for labour.
Good luck xx

@mynameisigglepiggle thank you 😊 I hope it’s not too far away.

Hi, I had my baby at 38 weeks exactly. My labour started how you are describing but I put it down to Braxton Hicks and got on with my day until it started to intensify and I thought I’d better call my midwife who told me to time my contractions and to rest and eat until I felt I could no longer deal with the pain.

This all started on a Friday morning at 8am and I didn’t give birth until the Sunday evening at 7.15pm so it was long and tiring! So please try to rest as much as you can and keep snacking and drinking lots.

Good luck!

Helfin · 03/01/2020 17:09

@MrsXx4 thank you! Tried to go out as normal but I do feel odd so just staying home and sleeping and snacking ☺️ Thanks for your advice! I always expected dramatic waters breaking rush to the hospital - type labour.

My waters didn’t break, the midwife had to break them for me and she only did that on the Sunday afternoon 2 days into my labour. However, once they were broken I had my DS within 2 hours! My labour was very slow going!

Helfin · 03/01/2020 20:22

@MrsXx4 I think I will give them a ring tomorrow and see if I should pop in depending on how tonight is. Feeling just like I’m on my period and got backache atm.

How are things?

Helfin · 04/01/2020 22:12

@fluffyjumper rang the midwife today, they said if is latent labour and to ring when waters break so I’ve been for a walk today, will see what transpires 😌
