Gel/Shellac fingers and toes ELCS

If you're having an ELCS do you need to have removed shellac from both toenails and fingernails?
I'm at wedding just before mine, and am booked in to have shellac on both, but just out of pure laziness was wondering if it is mandatory to have it removed before the section?

Yes it needs to be removed from at least 1 finger and 1 toe as the colour of your nail beds is an indicator of blood perfusion. Plus the saturation’s monitor doesn’t always work through nail varnish.

I've had gel polish on my toes for both C-sections and it wasn't an issue. I think you will need to remove on fingernails though.

I was told to remove all nail polish before my elcs.
