Stretch and sweep

Hi All,

I’m currently pregnant with my second baby (39+1). I went for a growth scan on 31/12/19 baby was measuring big at 8lb 15oz so they gave me a stretch and sweep. No joy. Had another one today. I still feel no twinges.

I know I’m being impatient but I’m so ready to have this baby naturally. I’m
Booked in for induction on the 8th. I was induced with 1st baby due to pre eclampsia and would really like it to happen naturally.

I guess I want to hear second time sweep success stories for second time mums. Ultimately I know baby will come when it’s ready or I will be induced in 6 days following a third sweep on the 7th.

Thank you in advance x

I had three stretch and sweeps and still ended up being induced. If your cervix isn’t favourable then it won’t help I’m afraid.

Oxeyedaisy I think that’s probably the case ☹️ However the MW said my cervix was 1-2cm and midpoint effaced but still thick. She could feel the head both times. But I think induction it is. I’ve had no twinges ☹️

I had a section booked for 39 weeks and did everything to avoid it. Reflexology, using breast pump but what I think worked was bouncing in birthing ball for hours.
