Waters gone?

jenn88 · 01/01/2020 07:47

Forgive me regular poster!! 36+5 with first baby! Woke up about 6.30 to very tiny leak of water, wiped after wee and was ever so slightly red. Put a pad in and have been leaking blood stained fluid since. It's only ever so slightly blood stained, could this be my waters?
To follow up I have been having mild period pains since and a few loose bowel movements! Also mild back ache!
I have not rang for advice yet......

Sounds like it to me! I would be ringing labour ward because you're under 37 weeks just for peace of mind

THAT90sBITCH · 01/01/2020 07:51

Agree you should phone labour ward, pretty sure they will want to check you over

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/01/2020 07:52

Yep- go get checked. Keep a pad on, they may test the liquid.

WellErrr · 01/01/2020 07:53

Ring labour ward and keep your pad on. Good luck!

Freshnewus · 01/01/2020 08:36

Yes this is exactly what happened to me.
They will wait 24 hours for your contractions to start on their own before inducing you.
However if you have had period pains then sounds like labour has started spontaneously! 👍👍👍

This is how I started. I would ring and ask to get checked out.

BikeRunSki · 01/01/2020 08:39

Sounds like it! I had my first at 36+5. Ring the labour ward. Good luck!

jenn88 · 01/01/2020 08:56

I just rang and midwife just said keep a pad in for a few hours and call back later! The period pains are quite strong though!!! Making me break out in a sweat!!!

Look like a new years baby on the way, good luck! Have you got your bag etc all ready?

happytoday73 · 01/01/2020 09:04

Jenn88.... How exciting!
"Break out in a sweat" ....if I was you I'd be packing my hospital bag if you haven't already done so. Sounds like you are definitely on your way to meeting your newborn...are you up to a short walk to keep yourself active... Starting the NY with a bang!🎉

Wishing you a fabulous birth experience... Let us know how it goes...

NameChaChaChanges · 01/01/2020 11:59

Exciting! With my first my waters went but contractions didn't start. Sounds like you are contacting, or starting to, so hopefully you will go into spontaneous labour. Good luck!

THAT90sBITCH · 01/01/2020 14:33

Good luck op

jenn88 · 02/01/2020 02:54
