Being induced

I've been on the induction ward since 3:00am this morning, when I had the propess put in. Nothing has happened yet (so for 9 hours). Midwife said she would be able to break my waters later as I'm 1-2cm dilated. Anyone had a similar experience? What happens after they break your waters?

I had the process and my cervix wasn't open enough for them to break my waters when they took it out. However, my waters went on their own that evening and I started labour naturally, I didn't progress as quickly as they hoped though so I had the drip for a few hours after, it wasn't too bad IMO. Good luck.

Propess I meant

What happens after they break your waters?

They attached me to an oxytocin drip and DD was born 3 hours later Grin. Good luck OP, I’m guessing you’re waiting for a space on labour ward?

I was induced with my second baby and it was great :)

I did get mild contractions with the pessary but they stopped overnight while I was snoozing. Had my waters broken on the labour ward the following afternoon and that started contractions of in earnest, with DS being born at 9pm. Good luck!

I had 2 pessarys 6 hours apart which got me to 3cm with no regular pains. Once they broke my waters (which was so painful accept the gas and air) baby was born 2 hours later. It was fast and brutal but I'd take that over a long labour any day.
Good luck!

Thanks for your replies. Pessary did nothing, had a break then the gel and was 2cm. Midwife did a sweep at 6pm last night, waters were broken at 3.30 and I was 3cm. DD2 was born 35 mins later!

My daughter was induced on the 7th and had a pessary at 230 pm . 24 hrs later she had an internal and they broke her waters. Labour started at 11pm and she spent the whole night bouncing on ball and swaying her hips . Amazing care from community midwife Epidural at 3am and she rested/ball and baby born at 11.18am .

When they broke my waters DS was born in one hour it was insanely fast. Hope it all works out for you.
