There's a possibility I'll be offered ECV in 3 weeks. I'd love to hear anyone's experiences of this - good or bad - as I try and weigh up and make a decision before my next appointment. (Hoping it won't be necessary!)

I may be having one on Friday, will let you know how it goes!

I was offered one in June and declined it. The big con for me was that it can send you into early Labour, even if the baby doesn't turn.

I didn't fancy an emergency c-section, so opted for the planned section instead.

My doctor assessed me and said she was dubious it would work anyway, because I had really strong stomach muscles and was carrying the baby towards my back.

Also, I was really scared it would hurt because I'm a complete wuss Blush.

I would never have one. The risk is not worth it imo. There was a thread on here a few years back where the ECV caused a small tear in the placenta that wasn’t detected and the op’s daughter died in the womb.

I just would never have one. I don’t want to terrify you at all! But do lots and lots of reading up about the risks before you consent to the procedure.

Thanks all, I did some reading on it and have decided that if baby is still breech at 36 weeks then I will be saying no to ECV. He's on the large side as well, measuring 3 weeks ahead, plus my placenta has just moved from being classed as low-lying and it all seems a bit much to me!
