How long before you were 'back at it'?

I gave birth 3 weeks ago - water birth and no stitches required. I have also stopped bleeding (lochia). I feel fine, everything is as back to normal as I could expect at this stage - my question is, how long before you felt like having sexual contact/inter course?

Just as a note - I know it's commonly quoted that you shouldn't before 6 weeks, and to use barrier contraception methods.

Hi OP, with my first son it was close to 8 weeks, second son it was 3 weeks after birth. I had episiotomies with both births.

Around 11 days after with both of mine. I had no stitching or nothing with both of them. So no problems :)

About 12 weeks I think. I had stitches and also bled for about 6 weeks, then got the implant fitted which took a few more weeks to arrange.

Just under 3 weeks
10 days
6 and a bit weeks

It varies so much and it is fine to be ready and fine not to. It's very individual.

Had birth similar to yours. First time it was 6 weeks when we first did it, could have been earlier for me physically as I felt fine but too bloody knackered from the lack or sleep! Felt fine although we probably didn't do it much until 3-4 months post partum. Second time, I was ready after 2 weeks but the baby cockblocked us for another week. Again it felt fine, we just went a bit gently and used lube.

Think 1st it was a good few weeks. I had a fair few stitches and had had a manual removal of the placenta so was pretty beat up and sore despite a 4lb 13oz baby. 2nd baby was just less than 2 weeks but would of been less if i wasn't so tired, had no soreness at all, one stitch for a graze and felt fine but was another small baby at 5lb 4oz

I think 7 or 8 weeks after an ELCS. Physically I was fine, but I have never felt less sexy in my life. I remember DH innocuously putting his hand on my thigh and wanting to cry because I was upset about how massive they were Sad

Probably about 2 months with DC1
I can’t remember having sex with XH after DC2, although I suppose we must’ve done at some point. Not for physical/health reasons, just because I’d realised what an abhorrent man he really was. Our marriage was pretty much sexless until we split when that baby was 2.
About a week post EMCS with DC3, with DP not ex.

First child 3 weeks
2nd child 3 days 😄

PixieDustt · 16/12/2019 21:05

I had a 2nd degree tear and stitches and it was about 5 weeks I think

Charlottejade89 · 20/12/2019 10:11

About 3 weeks, like you I had stopped bleeding and only had grazes as opposed to tears or stitches, was abit uncomfortable at first but we took it slow and were back to normal sex life within a few weeks
