Sorry for the really random question- so when I finally rock up to the labour ward?.. at Hull Royal Infirmary within the next 5 weeks - with my suitcase, handbag and coat on etc- like a wannabe celeb!😁 jokes - do you stay in the room or shared room allocated to have your baby ? Or do you get taken away somewhere else private to have the baby? Do I leave my stuff in a room with other people?
I know it's a random question? But I'm wondering do I padlock my suitcase? - I'm not taking any designer gear or anything like that😂- but you never know who's about - to me everyone else are strangers!.. whether they are pushing out babies or not - I am just wanting to keep my stuff safe? Lol 🙈😊

I had my boy there in January. You are in a private room to give birth but with shared toilet. After delivery when you're all sorted you go on to main ward, I was in a shared room but partners can stay. Food was gross so take snacks. I discharged myself after 1 night as the baby we were sharing with was up all night (as newborns do) and was desperate for my own bed. Midwives were hit and miss but most were nice. Good luck!

And yeah you leave baby and suitcase bags etc in the shared room in the ward. I didn't like leaving him so tended to wait til I had visitors, so didn't leave my phone etc unattended. There is private rooms too but not sure how you get one.

Thank you - so when your in the private room you have your suitcase and stuff with you? ... then I'm presuming once your done - and back on the ward- you then have it all with you and baby!.. I think I would opt to wait for someone to watch my baby too!..
unfortunately I don't have a partner - as the babies dad doesn't live in this country🙈 and I'm a first time mum - so I just keep thinking about these random things ha 😊
