Hi! I'm wondering if anyone can help make sense of my notes from my appointment earlier today? I'm 40 weeks and if I've read them correctly they say -

External genetalia - NAD
CX - mid anterior, external OS, able to admit fingertip, internal OS closed, 2cm long firm
PP - cephelic(?) undefined partial in VE, membranes intact

That last line may make no sense! The writing is difficult to work out! Smile Hope someone can help!

Cephalic means baby is head down. 'CX - mid anterior, external OS, able to admit fingertip, internal OS closed, 2cm long firm PP' is presumably a description of your cervix. I'd assume starting to open from fingertip comment but not ripe as 2cm long and firm, but I'm just guessing!

It all seems normal, cephalic so head down, membranes intact so waters still there, then about your cervix position and dilation / ephase which to be honest doesn’t tell you much.

External genetalia - NAD
your external genitalia is normal
CX - mid anterior
your cervix is almost facing the front external OS able to admit fingertip
the bottom of your cervix admits a fingertip
internal OS closed
your actual cervix is closed
2cm long firm
your cervix is 2cm long and firm to touch
PP - cephelic(?) undefined partial in VE
cant confirm on vaginal examination whether baby is presenting head down
membranes intact
waters intact
