Cord clamp

May get mixed reactions to this but I would like to keep my DS's cord clamp. I have DD's. It fell off the other day and I have kept it but I need to know how to get the dried up cord out of it. (I don't want to keep that bit) Does anyone have any ideas

I've kept DS's cord clamp

can you open it to get the bits out? I kept both of my dc cord clamps.

Sorry - pressed enter before I finished. NOt sure how you'd get the cord bit out though - DH did ours. Wouldn't it kind of mummify though so there'd hardly be anything there eventually?

Does it not just open up?

Still have cord attached to clamp - now 4 years old and just looks dried up.

I put it in a water sample bottle and labled it with the day it dropped off.

I have managed to get most of it off but there is a bit still stuck in the actual clamp. DP did DD's when she was born but it took him ages to do. Was wondering if there was an easier way of doing it.
I have DD's on my keys as a keyring. It is sterilised and clean. Was going to put DS's on there as well.
