Hey! I was just wondering what all your experiences are at both hospitals, I had my first baby at wythenshaw and the care I received was awful. There was no communication between the midwifes they were just rude and unhelpful after I had my baby this was in 2016... has it changed much? the hospital is better for me to get to as I hate driving through town but if st Mary's is better i would rather go there!

Hi I had dd at st marys in 2016
Fantastic service and also I was extremely poorly after and was readmitted 2 weeks later with sepsis and they saved my life

Dd was also in NICU immediately after birth and the NICU nurses were amazing

If i were to have another (unlikely!!) Id opt for st marys again....but then again i would have to as i would be high risk

Down sides are its MASSIVE and your not going to get a personalised care or get to really know your midwife as she would have a huge caseload. Its a bit like a baby factory one in one out....but thats what you get with a massive maternity unit

If your low risk have you thought about a midwife lead birth centre?

Hey! Thanks for replying... I had a traumatic first birth with complications so I've got no idea yet if I would be high risk for another... due to what happened last time I would opt for a csection with my next
