Scared of early labour

Due to my medical history I was advised to have my baby at 38 weeks by induction. I was 100% dead against having an induction so fought for a c section. I finally got given the go ahead for one and on the 14th November I hopefully get given my date! I will be 38 weeks at the end of November. I'm not due till 9th December. I'm absolutely petrified now of going into labour early without a date secured for my c section and I'm worried they won't honour my wishes of a c section and make me have a vaginal birth if I was to start early. I feel I have prepared myself for a c section birth now and not for a vaginal birth. Has anyone had a planned c section and gone into labour early and still been given one? This is my first baby so many have said it's unlikely I'll go into labour early but you just can't guarantee that and I feel it's just consuming me now and I can't relax in the last few weeks of what has already been such a stressful pregnancy.

It is unlikely to go into labour early with your first.
I had my little girl 5 months ago, I had gestational diabetes, they first said induction but I was like you, really didn't want one. But the consultant recommended a Csection because of DD size. We got to 38 weeks exactly, her head was fully down but still not engaged so I knew we could still have Csection.
Unfortunately, they probably won't give you a Csection if you do go into labour naturally Sad
Plus they told us if her head was engaged they would prefer induction over Csection anyway x

I had my preference for a c-section agreed (was offered this as 1st child was also c- section due to being breech) and went into labour the day before the surgery (39+4) 🙄
Although I was asked twice if I wanted to ‘give it a go’ i.e. deliver vaginally I stuck to my plan and just became a bit of an emergency section rather than elective.
My section was agreed/ ‘signed off’ pretty late, but I had been expressing this as my wish at every prior appointment, so it was recorded numerous times in my notes.
Best of luck securing this 👍🏻

It's very unlikely you will naturally go then although I had the same fears so understand it and there are always those stories! If you have fought for c section and they granted it for whatever reason they should honour.

People forget but before the baby is born the mum actually has all the human rights and they will need to listen to and support you. Have you spoken to midwife about your fears?

Few years ago now but my mum was booked in for an ELCS because my sister was breach. Went into labour the day before and they brought her in there and then for her section. She was pushed back because a woman came in for an emergency with twins but they still had plenty of time.

@BiscuitLover2391 my midwife is very relaxed about it all, she's thrilled I got the go ahead for the c section as she knew how I felt about an induction and was all for me having a section.she seems to think all will go to plan but I just can't seem to relax. I'm itching for the 14th to actually find out my date then least I have a secure date and something to work towards. I just hope my wishes would be met in any circumstance.

My 1st was a 34 weeker and im expected another prem this time. Although we did just short of 2 weeks in NICU and it was emotionally and physically draining, we were only there that amount of time because he kept getting jaundice. He was fine and is a strapping 6 yo. Im not worried about having another prem, im 32 weeks now and dont feel like im going to go term tbh but i have a uterine abnormality.
