I am 3 weeks away from my due date with No. 2. First delivery was fine, normal vag delivery but long and somewhat scary. I am working on my 'birth plan' at the moment and I am 'planning' on a shorter and less scary birth . I have a couple of ideas on how I want to go about things this time. Firstly I have read up on the hypnobirthing way (don't have enough time for a course at this late stage) but hoping that the breathing preparation will help a lot. Secondly, and probably most bizarrely I am going on the laughter angle to get me through
I remember having a moment of light relief in my last labour when my MW & DH were stuggling to push and pull me in a wheelchair with completely flat tyres on the carpet to the birthing pool. I kept saying I can walk (had to go upstairs to the birthing pool) but they insisted on doing this. They were knackered by the time we got there but it was nice having a good laugh!
DH is preparing for his role by writing a list of as many funny incidences, stories and jokes so he can talk/laugh me through things!
There was a great thread quite a few months ago on funny household accidents. I PMSL and was hoping to find it again and print it out. There was a lot of contributors so I am hoping someone will be able to tell me how to find it. One of the poor MNer had a frozen cauliflour fall out of the freezer on her foot! Ring a bell with anyone?????
So, has anyone gone down this path for your birth experience????
PS I know that hypnobirthing and laughter are probably not really compatible and Mrs Mongan would frown at the idea but I figure anything that helps me relax can't be too bad
