Had a sweep yesterday evening, i am 39 weeks but MW did it early as i am suffering increasing SPD and Swelling and finding it hard to move/ walk around!
She said my Cervix was soft and 50% effaced , she could also feel babies head as she sweeping! Had a bloody show last night about 2 hours after and also an "old blood" show this morning. also said that i was 2.5cm dilated. what are the chances i could be walking normal again by next week!

hopefully those are all good signs, but just so you dont get your hopes up too much (cause I did) I was 2cm dilated on the Tuesday when the midwife did a sweep and my cervix was soft then too. I had some sort of show that night but it wasnt till the following Monday that my waters broke and labour started fully. Got pretty frustrated that week as kept having contractions but nothing regular so kept thinking it was moving forward and then it stopped again.

Hopefully you will progress faster than I did, but if you dont, and if there is any way to do this - try and keep active with other things and not think about it too much or it will drive you crazy - and take lots of walks, sex to try and encourage it along.

Thanks conker, have had little bits of stringy show on and off (sorry if TMI) going to be bouncing lots tonight on ball and have tried to keep mobile all day!! Wont be to disappointed if its not in the next few days but went 15 days over with ds and really didn't want that this time!
