Induction tomorrow

Hi. I’m booked in to be induced tomorrow at 38 weeks due to GD. I have to call up in the morning at 7.30 and they’ll tell me when to come. What are people’s experiences of this? Wondering what the likelihood is of getting in on the same day, and how soon people had their babas after the initial call. Thank you.

It all depends on busy delivery suite is. I called at 7.30am, then was told to call back at 12pm, 5pm then 10pm. I eventually went in at 2.30am! X

I've been straight in each time with my inductions. 1st one I was over due so down in delivery within 3 hours because it moved fast. Second one delivery was shut because of sheer volume of babies being born and I was 5th in a queue of ladies being in Induced / waiting to go down ... went in Monday 9am and was taken down to delivery 5pm Wednesday

I'd be prepared for a wait to be safe. If it's your first baby and your early then could take a few days to get started

I was added as an "extra" to the list of inductions- planned for 6.30pm arrival but only started around 9pm or so.

Main thing is be prepared for lots of waiting - phone, charger, tablet, craft, lots of stuff downloaded, mindless games. I also had a Lego set I did with DH...

Comfortable shoes so you can mooch/walk as much as you want too.

Most of mine was overnight so I did a lot of laps of the ward...

I had to call at 7.30, was asked to call back at 11 due to them not having any beds. Told to go in for 2pm, admitted to an antenatal bed and finally moved to an induction bed the next morning about 9am.

I went in for 8am and the process started at 9am. Had three "rounds" of induction, nothing worked, zero, zilch, nada progress and ended up with a section three days after
I went in. Be prepared a lot of boredom and waddling up and down the corridors.

Saying that once I got in I had 2 prostin pessarys 6 hours apart then they broke my waters and baby was born 2 hours later.

I was induced yesterday
Arrived at 830 but didn't get to the labour ward until 5:30 due to emergencies.... baby arrived 8:54 Am today

Called at 8am Friday, went in for 11am. Couldn’t have propess as was starting to contract and a previous CS then baby HR was decelerating so held off until we were able to go ahead at 8pm. Started contracting at 10pm and had waters broken at 10am. Active labour 2pm and pushed baby out at 1am Sunday morning 👍 fairly quick for an induction

Also had to call at 7:30 but bed didn't become available until 4pm. 4 days later DS was born 🥰

I think I had to go in for 9am. Got the pessary at 11am, baby born at 8:30pm.

So I got a bed at 7pm ish on Tuesday but because baby heart rate was low, didn't have the pessary in till 5:30 next morning. 24 hours later just had the prostaglandin gel in. Pressure down below is immense. Don't know how I'm going to handle the birth 😢

Ah best of luck to you. The NHS do know what they're doing. Baby will be here soon.
