Am I in labour?

I'm currently 38 weeks today, about 3/4 days ago I thought I came down with a bug I had extremely bad sickness and couldn't get off the toilet (sorry for the tmi)and felt generally under the weather however it only lasted half a day or do which makes me think maybe it wasn't a bug, over the past week I kept having a white/clear discharge in my underwear and when I whipped, I'm unsure weather this was my plug or not.

The past two days I've found doing certain things difficult and my nesting instinct has kicked in badly, I've felt extremely faint, tired and drained all day today and this is unlike me normally I'm full of energy, my babies movements have seemed more frequent tonight and I keep getting small cramp like pains, some are painful and some aren't, is this labour? I don't want to go bothering the hospital if it's braxton hicks or a normal part of pregnancy.
Thankyou in advance

I think so, mine started like this. Try and rest as much as possible, you'll need your energy.

Good luck!

Sounds like your body is getting ready for labour.

It sounds very promising! It really isn't a cliche when people say "you'll know" . I had a couple of false starts before my labour.

The first contraction I had, I thought I had really bad wind! They began about 10 mins apart and I was able to talk through them to begin with. They gradually became more intense and closer together.

From my first contraction to birth was 34 hours, so get some sleep if you can. Your body will need all the energy to progress your labour.

It terribly frustrating not knowing, but just keep reminding yourself "baby can't stay in there forever ! "

Good luck OP

**all of my contractions were painful from the start.
