Just wondering if anyone has any advice or similar experience.
I had my baby 6 days ago by elective C section (I had emergency section with 1st baby).
The delivery went absolutely fine however after my son was born, the surgeon found a ruptured ovarian cyst on my left ovary. They are unsure if this was ruptured due to the section or had already been ruptured. After consulting with another surgeon, they agreed to remove this during the section. They then found another cyst which was the size of an orange on my right ovary. They also decided to remove this (after consulting me on what they had found). During this part of the surgery, I could feel the anesthesia wearing off and could feel the pain of the surgery (kind of like pins amd needles but way worse like when you have been to the dentist and you can start to feel the sensation coming back.) They ended up giving me general anaesthetic to put me to sleep for the rest of the surgery due to my distress.
It was quite a traumatic experience!
Anyway, the point in this post is about what im feeling now. I dont remember having this pain that I am currently experiencing with the last c section but I dont know if its normal or if its in relation to the removal of the cysts or if its something else, or something I need to be concerned about.
The pain is sharp and appears as soon as i have been standing or moving for more than 5 seconds. The pain is not in the incision area it is above it (on the left side of my bellybutton and down a wee bit...kind of where id expect the ovary to be). When i sit down, the pain isnt really there and when I press the area in (like hold it in with my hand and walk) then that eases the pain considerably. Is this a normal part of recovery? If so, any tips of how to ease this? How long does it normally last?
Also, as another part of my complications, after removal of my catheter, I was unable to pass urine facepalm so I currently have a catheter which ive to have for another 3 days before they attempt to remove it and see if i can pee on my own. Has anyone had this happen? Were they able to pee after getting the catheter out again? If anyone has had this, did you notice blood in the catheter, during the urine red and also little clots of blood? Sorry for all the questions. I did phone the midwife and was advised I would be called back but that was 5 hours ago and I'll need to wait until tomorrow now.
My current mood is not great as I feel disgusting with this catheter in, constantly bleeding (as normal) but feel unable to clean properly because of the catheter and I also feel sad that i cant do anything with my first son because of the pain. I honestly feel like I'll never get back to how I was before I was pregnant!
