How many weeks are you? To be honest I wouldn’t hesitate to call the labour ward for any kind of pain. Let them decide if it’s labour or constipation

mummy915 · 25/09/2019 01:35

Sorry that would help I'm 38 weeks, I'll be so embarrassed if just need a good poo 🤣🙈

In my experience the poo and baby are coming...Flowers

Sounds very like your LO is on it's way. Try a warm bath to help with the pain.

mummy915 · 25/09/2019 01:52

Give your midwife a ring. Is there another adult around for your DD if you need to go? If this isn't it, and you haven't already done so, it sounds like time to sort a plan for what you'd do with her if labour did start in the middle of the night.

gingersnaps14 · 25/09/2019 02:04

Definitely call your midwife or the hospital, I was woken up 9.30am Tuesday morning with what I thought were "needing a poo" type pains and had my baby girl here with me by 5pm - if it turns out to be just a poo, who cares?! Better to be wrong than giving birth without support, right? Good luck lovely.

ImagineRainbows · 25/09/2019 02:04

Midwife here.

Labour, particularly advanced labour, can feel very much like needing to poo. You need to get checked out. No one will bat an eyelid if it’s not labour. We see it all the time!

mummy915 · 25/09/2019 03:05

I've tried loo again.. managed a tiny one, so mayb just constipated? X

How regular are the pains?

It is possible to need a poo and be in labour ;)

I’d go and get checked out if the pains are very regular. Good luck!

Again sorry for tmi but i tried the vaginal muscle exercises they tell you to try last night and there was alot of white mucus on my hands after? Is that a sign? And it's just gone off but may come back? X

If they come and go, could be braxton hicks contractions. I’d call OB/midwife.

pollywobble · 28/09/2019 00:00
