Are you expecting a csection or a vaginal birth?

mummy915 · 21/09/2019 09:58

Hopefully vaginal x

I took 3 newborn size vests and babygros, 3 0-3 months (just in case she didn't fit into the NB size). I actually needed tiny baby size so my DM went out and bought a few for me. I only packed 3 of each because I thought DH could bring more if we needed them. A small packet of size 1 nappies and some waterwipes.
I took some Vaseline because I read that if you put it on their bum before the first poo it won't stick to their skin and it would be easier to clean.

I only packed 3/4 babygros and vests but was discharged about 14 hours after delivery so didn’t even use more than one set. Took one of the small packs of nappies and a pack of water wipes. Depends on obviously what happens with your delivery and how you choose to feed baby if you need to stay longer for breastfeeding support etc but we also lived 30mins away from the hospital and as DH wasn’t allowed to stay he brought some stuff with him in the morning. So all depends on your circumstances! Good luck Smile

If you are going into hospital by car then you can put spares in there, in case you are in longer or have a sicky baby.

I have never bought newborn as I was predicted large babies. Second time around I put in 0-3 in the baby but had to send DH to get the up to 1 month stuff out the car as came early so was a little smaller than expected.
