C section scar won’t heal!!

Hi everyone,

My second baby girl was born 10 weeks ago via emergency c section. Initially the wound healed amazingly and I felt completely normal until at 4 weeks post op when it started opening up and leaking pus.
I was given a course of antibiotics and it cleared up well. A week later it was infected again and I was given more antibiotics. Again it cleared up. This time it looked completely healed after a longer course of antibiotics until I noticed bleeding (9 weeks post op!). Went to the out of hours and the doctor was fab, she sent off a swab (this hadn’t been offered previously!) and prescribed different antibiotics. I’m currently waiting for the results. However the doctor thinks that the antibiotics I was on worked ok as they did clear the infection for a short time!
I feel like this is such a long recovery as my baby is nearly 10 weeks!
Any tips on how to speed up recovery/healing? I have been washing the wound at least twice daily and drying thoroughly - maybe I should leave it alone!?
I was advised by one doctor to use talc to ensure it’s completely dry.
Any advice would be much appreciated, I am fed up of it now 😞
Xxx

just the basics; eat well, fluids, and plenty of rest.
i'd add in a multi vit, and i would expose the area to air when possible.
is there a bit of an overhang that keeps the spot moist?

Thank you. I have been eating well, but definitely don’t drink or rest nearly enough! Will do my best but it’s hard with a 2 year old and a baby.
I do have an overhang.. does this ever go!?
It’s just very frustrating how the infection goes for a week or so and then returns xx

there might be underlying issues (like the internal stitches irritating the area).
the overhang will go, you will be surprised how much is swelling due to the infection process.
take any antibiotics as recommended.
little things like washing your hands often is good practice.
wash bedding, towels, pj's if your not too exhausted.
absolutely no smoking or smoke fumes as this will affect healing.

Thank you. Usually wear clean pjs each night. Will get them to check for internal stitches still being there. X
