37+6 contractions? SO CONFUSED!!!!

Hi everyone, I'm 37+6 with second baby, DD who is 16mo was born at 38+5. Friday night I had really intense Braxton Hicks for 3 hours or so, never had that before to that extent with DD. One or 2 were actually painful. Then all died down and went away, then at 3am last night was woken up by cramping, but no tightening of uterus like with BH though. Cramps came off and on until 5am, probably 1 every 3 mins then I guess I fell back to sleep. Now I've woken up with (sorry to be gross) but diarrhea. What on earth is happening? With DD waters broke like in a film and then contractions started 2 hours later. Any help much appreciated!!!xxx

I know everyone's different but I thought an upset stomach was a sign of impending labour but if you've had cramps it could just be a dodgy tum I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would be preparing for labour either way!

My first labour started with diarrhoea and irregular contractions.
I thought it was a stomach bug at first until my waters broke.

Thanks guys, let's hope it labour coming on...I get upset stomachs a lot cause have IBS lol, but this felt different so hoping it is labour as am done being pregnant! Smile

I had intense painful cramping which was very irregular for about 3 days before my first. I also had a definite "clear out" of my bowels.
I was clueless that it could be the start of labour and didn't realise until my waters suddenly went. Dd was born less than 2 hours later at 37+4.
Currently 37+1 with #2 and watching everything like a hawk as no idea how it will differ from last time!

@Frizzy1986 I'm the same obsessively symptom watching. Currently 37 weeks, done about 20 poos in the last 24 hours and have a pain in my back so telling myself this could be it, although I have a really bad cold and have been sneezing really hard so this could possibly (more likely) explain my symptoms. It's going to be a long few weeks ahead!

Frizzy1986 · 11/09/2019 18:48

@Hannah9176 I've not really had anything yet, but I stupidly thought that I'd go early again. I'll probably go over and end up being induced but I'm still hopeful as there's plenty of time.
Ideally after Monday would work for me as I've got cleaners coming to spruce my house.

Hannah9176 · 11/09/2019 19:49

@Frizzy1986 yeah there's still so much time but it's definitely going to drag. Love that you've got a big clean Monday, ideal date for me would be next Wednesday as I'm getting my hair done and my husband is home from work (he's currently working 200 miles away, which is probably adding to my anxiety to make sure I spot any early signs!)

BMorelli · 11/09/2019 20:23

I'm still here, now 38 dead on, mad braxton hicks but nothing more conclusive. So annoyed, wasnt even thinking about going into labour, now cant stop!

@BMorelli it's rough isn't it. It's that knowledge that it can start at any time so you stupidly start trying to second guess everything.

@Hannah9176 if my dh was working 200 miles away I'd have no chance. He works about 30 mins drive away depending on traffic and that worries me enough after the speed of the last one.

Hannah9176 · 12/09/2019 06:53

Yeah it's just the knowing it could happen any time from now, but could also be weeks away which is annoying. I was woke up with really bad cramp pains 1.30 this morning that lasted about 2 hours but baby has obviously changed her mind and isn't feeling it anymore.
