I'm in labour

So I'm in labour, well I thought? and have been since 11:45pm. But everything seems to be calming down, I thought my second labour would of been quicker Hmm.

Anyone have or experienced this? Everything was consistent for the first 2-3 hours, now my contractions are all over the place

How exciting :) I was also expecting second Labour to be quicker, from start to end it was I think but not as I expected.
Do you have someone with you? When do you need to enact plans for care of older child?

B0bb · 09/08/2019 06:58

@StealthPolarBear yeah I have my husband with me, and childcare is taken care of. Just annoyed that there is no consistency with them now... I don't understand what's going on Envy. I got my mom up in the night thinking it wouldn't be long lol

I did the same :)
I suspect this is just a blip and you'll soon go back to regular contractions. Hope all goes well x

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/08/2019 07:02

I would try and go to sleep. Sods law says itll all ramp up then!

B0bb · 09/08/2019 08:31

@StealthPolarBear thank you

@IVEgottheDECAF I just had a brief nap an hour and a half, they kept waking me up Hmm...

How’s it going? Hope you’re busy 🙂

B0bb · 09/08/2019 10:04

@Marcipex I decided to listen to some music and keep timing. Still no consistency Hmm.

Just feeling bored lol.. I may ring them again in a bit and ask if they can see me and see what is happening. It may help then?

Good plan x

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/08/2019 10:17

How about a bath?

B0bb · 09/08/2019 10:20

@IVEgottheDECAF I had a shower not long ago as I struggle to get in and out of the bath because of size of me 😂. Otherwise I would.

I found that initially with dd (born 11 days ago) labour started and then slowed down. We went to hospital and I was checked and after a few hours was only 1-2cm. Midwife examined and did a sweep. And after that things ramped up significantly. I think I went from 2cm to 10 and waters breaking within 2 hours. Baby popped out 30 mins later.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 09/08/2019 10:28

My second labour was on/off slow labour for a week and a half. I did not class it as being in labour properly until I had 4 contractions in 10 mins.

B0bb · 09/08/2019 12:25

@ememem84 oh gosh. Well I have just been seen. I'm 3-4cm and when I was having a contraction she said my waters were bulging lol so hopefully they will go soon.

How exciting!

Im 36+1 and little bit jealous!

B0bb · 09/08/2019 13:41

@IVEgottheDECAF fingers crossed yours won't be too long nearer the time. Still going but contractions are shorter and more painful.

I've been having irregular contractions since 11pm Wednesday night. We ended up in triage at 4am but I was only 1cm dilated, so was sent home with co-codamol.

I'm still having irregular contractions, but I'm booked in for a sweep at half 2 today. Honestly thought I was in full blown labour on Wednesday then they just tapered off!

Here's hoping both our babies show up soon, I don't know about you but I'm very bored of these on off contractions now 😂

Elmamadegatita · 09/08/2019 13:47

Oh yeah, part of my mucus plug went this morning but still no waters!

B0bb · 09/08/2019 13:57

@Elmamadegatita oh no fingers crossed!

Well as soon as I had the sweep and stretch my contractions are coming hopefully every 3 and half mins occasionally 4. It's been an hour so I will ring in a bit. Just making sure.

I know I got bored, i missed out on about 6 hours of sleep thinking I may need to go in.

I was losing my mucus plug on and off from Sunday and lost a lot yesterday

This happened to me with my 2nd. My waters went at roughly 11pm and I was having regular contractions. They had me go in to hospital and then sent me home. From around 2am to 6pm my contractions were all over the place.. some every 3 mins.. sometimes only 1 per hour!!! They just suddenly kicked back in and I had her at 10pm.. so 23 hours all in all and I thought 2nd babies were supposed to come quicker haha! Good luck with everything Smile

B0bb · 09/08/2019 14:05

@swingalongsidney never?!

Lol and me.. mine seems to be playing silly buggers. Been losing my plug since last Sunday. I'm sure ever since he found out I would be induced he thought wo I need to get a move on 😂...

Enjoy your maccy d’s!!!! (If your waters go in there do you get free food for life?!) 😂

Seriously though - good luck with everything. Hopefully things kick off soon.

B0bb · 09/08/2019 14:13

@ememem84 we saw the Q and thought nope won't do it just in case 😂.

Thanks u too! Still timing but there getting intense so hopefully once I ring triage they will let me come in
