Freaking out about induction

So I'm due to be induced with baby no.5 on Friday, last baby was induced with just the pessary and was over and done with in around 5 hours or so, no problems. This time though, the consultant has decided they're not going to go with the pessary, just going to break my waters with the hook and then give me a drip if contractions don't start. I'm not too sure I like the sound of that to be honest, I've heard it's more painful that way 🙄 and I don't really relish what the consultant described as "basically, a crochet hook" being rammed up my vagina 😄 just looking for reassurance that's it's not as horrific as it sounds, tbh.

Hi. I've had waters broken with baby 1 and 3. 1st time I saw the hook and had a panic attack, 3rd time was fine. It doesn't hurt, you don't even feel it. Try not to worry. Good luck x

Thank you 😊 I'll just shut my eyes, avoid looking at it and hope for the best 😁

I had my waters broken for both my labours & I had the drip induction for my second. It was fine. I didn’t really care to be honest just wanted it done! My second labour was much quicker. Approx 7 hours whereas my first was about 26. Good luck & try not to worry x

Have gas and air when they break your waters, I did.
I also had the drip but it didn't work so ended up with c section (now 3 weeks into recovery)

Good luck all will be fine xxx

I also advise gas and air for waters if you like.
With the drip- don’t be afraid to ask for an epidural if you like.
Good luck. I’m the world’s biggest wimp but I got through it and you’ve done it before Smile
