My amazing son was born this afternoon at 3pm by ELCS. Smile I had a diclofenac suppository in theatre and then paracetamol and dihydrocodeine around 11pm. When should I expect the pain and trapped wind to start?

Firstly, congratulations!! I had our son by emergency c-section 11 weeks ago today. The pain will probably start through the night, but it seems to differ as lots of people who I've asked have had different experiences. For example, I had bad nerve pain shooting down my left leg which noone else I know had. I also had really bad back pain which apparently comes from your tummy muscles being unable to support you... hurt like hell for a few days but was gone within a week. I hope you have a quick recovery xx

Congratulations!
I was completely off my tits on painkillers for at least 24 hours!

I had an emergency C section with DD but luckily I didn't get any pain. So I can't really answer your question.
However I can tell you to take the Lactulose or whatever they offer you, as I didn't (because I got it into my head that it would give me the squits. It doesn't) & oh boy the first no2 I had was worse than contraction pain & toothache put together!

(Just got traumatised remembering the first No2........,.sorry Smile )

Congratulations. I found it only started hurting the first time I moved but that was because I started taking paracetamol, ibuprofen and oramorph straight away at the maximum dose, I didn't wait for the spinal and suppository to wear off first.
