C-section at New Cross Hospital

Has anyone been to New Cross Hospital and had a cecearian?

I'm booked in and they've given me the date but not the time, I've emailed and phoned them but no answers. I'm in the day before (they gave me a time for that) for blood tests but that's all I know.

I was going to ask my consultant then and there but she was truly awful to me and made me feel uncomfortable asking questions.

I think usually you don't get a time, they decide the order on the day and there are always emergencies that need to go first. At your pre-op you will be told a time to show up in the morning. But they should explain things to you of course!

Thank you! I feel a bit more calmer now

Echo the above - with elective c sections you don't usually get an exact time beyond told what time to arrive in the morning then you will probably just be told when you're up next, excluding emergencies. Try to think of the positives - you know what day your baby is being born rather than having a 5 week window, unless you go into labour before the booked date.

I had an EMCS at NewCross. It meant my friend, booked in for a planned C Sec the same day had to sit around and wait for a slot. Like it says above, you'll get Ann arrival time but it really just depends in the day. If you're ready to go and an emergency comes in, you'll get bumped

Good luck x
