Hi all Smile
39+4
4th Baby Smile

I thought I'd share my morning with you.
So 5:30am this morning I decided to phone the hospital and come in as I was having contractions every 3-6 minutes. I was having them all night but hesitant to go in earlier as they weren't really progressing (pain was not getting more intense or closer together).

6:00am - On the drive to the hospital my contractions started to intensify and last a little longer.
6:45am - My waters broke in the car
7:00am - I arrived at the hospital and immediately felt the urge to push. The midwives had not yet examined me and didn't believe I was fully dilated based on my contractions so I fought the urge for as long as I could.
7:20am - I demanded to be examined as I felt like I knew my own body and I couldn't hold off pushing for much longer. They examined me and were surprised to discover that I was in fact fully dilated.
7:30am - The pushing began. One of the midwives said she thought could she a head emerging, which ended up being... a foot Shock As soon as she noticed the foot everything went 100mph. She called doctors in, I had to put my legs up on those stilt things, the room was full of midwives, nurses and doctors.
7:35am - I'm now completely panicked and unsure what's going on as everything's happening so fast. I was told to push again and then the midwife put what felt like her entire hand in me to fish the other foot out. I had to have an episiotomy and push even when I didn't have contractions, they needed the baby out immediately.
7:41am - My beautiful baby girl was born. Footling Breech, 7lb8oz.

I'm not gunna lie it was a terrifying birth but still easier than my previous births as it was so quick.

We're both doing amazing, we're still in shock as it was crazy for the both of us but we're happy and healthy Smile

Happy Saturday all Grin

I also had a footling breech. 1hr before he was born waters broke, 20mins of labour with contractions, 3 pushes and there he was. Thank God I was already in the hospital!

Congratulations! What surprise! I had an undiagnosed frank breech birth a few months ago, it also happened very quickly. I went from being examined at 4cm dilated and thinking everything was going smoothly to fully dilated and pushing a baby out bum first in about half an hour. Another half an hour and she was born. Look after yourself, I found it difficult to come to terms with the chaos and fear from my birth, and found a debrief at the hospital 3 months later really helpful.
