C-section hospital bag

I'd packed a hospital bag for me and one for baby. However I've now been told I'm only allowed one bag for the both of us. Both bags were totally full so not sure what to get rid of! Can anyone help?

Can you not just decant them into one bigger bag?

I've packed mine and I've got my own and baby's things in one small carry on size case. Just got separate changing bag for my cloth nappies but if I was just taking pack of disposables then they would have got in the case too.

Put mine and my DD stuff all in a small suitcase

Hospital states no suitcases allowed! Gaaah

Pack everything you need for you and immediately post op just for while you wait to be called down in one bag, including a vest, nappy and a hat for baby in a ziplock baggy. ALL else can stay in a separate bag in the car which someone can bring to you while you're recovering.

I wouldn't worry too much, they just say these things so people don't take the absolute piss and turn up with half a dozen big bags that are stuck in the way of the bed! They won't turn you away just because your bag is a bit too big or you've two smaller ones instead of one.

Absolutely TAKE WHAT YOU WANT.

Don’t let them tell you what you can bring into hospital. I brought my own bedding.
